Getting Supplement Formulations Right Every Time

A gym supplement manufacturer faced a problem. Their production team was making custom powder blends using spreadsheets and manual calculations. Nutritional values didn’t always add up, and ingredients sometimes ran out mid-batch without warning. When a customer asked about a batch from a few months ago, finding the information meant digging through papers and old files.

For a business where accuracy and consistency are critical, this approach just wasn’t sustainable.

What We Built

We built BlendApp on PowerApps with Azure SQL Database to make formulations accurate, track inventory, and manage production smoothly. The production team could select ingredients and input quantities while the system instantly calculated the full nutritional profile, eliminating manual errors.

It flagged shortages before production and automatically updated inventory when batches were made. Power Automate handled notifications and logging so nothing fell through the cracks.

Management used Power BI dashboards to see production volumes, popular blends, ingredient usage, and inventory turnover, allowing them to plan raw material purchases based on real data.

How It Turned Out

Formulation errors dropped to almost zero because automated calculations kept every label accurate. Inventory surprises stopped since stock levels were visible in real time. Batch traceability for quality checks or customer questions was always ready with complete records.
